I currently have some problems using the preview pane in File Explorer where if there is a # in the name of the file, it does shows an error. When I remove the # symbol, i am able to view the file again.

The error that I get is

File not found

It may have been moved, edited, or deleted

ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND

The version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is 22.1.20142. Windows OS versions that I have tried on are 10.0.19043.1766 and 10.0.19044.1766. Uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader DC temporary fixes the issue, it always comes back after a few weeks.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please let us know what happens when you try to open the PDF directly from the application.

Do you get the same error?

Are you able to open other PDFs without any issues?

Try to create a new PDF and add # in the file name. Then try to open it.

Repair application installation by going to Help > Repair Installation.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I am able to open the PDF with no issues. The only issue is with the preview viewer that is enabled in File Explorer.
