Adobe PDFMaker is slow

New Here ,
Jan 31, 2024 Jan 31, 2024

Hello, a client of mine is having trouble using the "Save as Adobe PDF" option in Word. When selecting this option, it takes about a minute or two to save, even though the file is only 198 kb. So far, the only thing that has helped is turning off the "Enable Accessibility and Reflow with tagged Adobe PDF" option under File > Save as Adobe PDF > Options. After that, the file will save in about 5 seconds.

I tried to look for the option to make this change permanent, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Right now, the client has to uncheck that option every time they save a document to Adobe PDF.

This is with Acrobat Pro installed through Creative Cloud. I made sure Microsoft 365 is updated, as well as Acrobat Pro. The Adobe PDFmaker Add-in for Microsoft Office is up-to-date as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @ChristianOfficecomputer

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

We are glad to hear that you have tried some troubleshooting steps and found a workaround. As, its still an issue. Please try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon present in the MS Word toolbar and see if that works.

Also go through the help page (https://adobe.ly/48XeTdF) and see if that brings any difference.

Let us know how it goes.
