Longtime Adobe product user, first time posting here. See attached file with chat transcript with an Adobe rep regarding activation of an Adobe Pro 17 license I've had for years and never had a problem with - along with screenshots of error message in Adobe (local) and no list of activated machines in Adobe online. To date, I've logged out of Adobe on the two machines the application was installed on, and uninstalled it on one of them. I still am not able to get the application activated on my main machine running Windows 11 - which crashed a few days ago, resulting in a clean install of the OS. An Adobe rep called me and offered to sell me a 2020 license, but I feel like I've bought the license I have and it should work. Any information on how to navigate this issue would be helpful.

Thank you, PJ. I'm planning to pop in to Adobe HQ to address this issue in the next week or two in my usual law suit (suit and tie) for court as I have an appearance in San Jose soon date TBD. If they won't talk to me, I can wait all day while I review my research on past and current lawsuits/cases against adobe for this anti-consumer behavior. Adobe used to be a good customer-oreiented company... I will document what happens

That should have been spelled "customer-oriented" company, my bad for not proof-reading well enough, but I guess this "high tech" company does not have spell corection <- (see?) indicators on its forums like every other interweb company. C'mon Adobe, if you really cared about your customers' feedback, you would be supporting these dialogues with at least 20th century technology, not even asking for 21st century. Three clicks of a mouse can surely resolve these perpetual license problems for all disaffected, disenfranchised, disappointed fully paid customers.

Similar thing happened to me. The motherboard on my computer was dying so I contracted to a computer business to build a new one for me. We agreed to use various parts of my old computer (such as the video card) in the new computer. Prior to taking in the old computer, I de-activated Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. I've been through this process before and I knew that I must de-activate the program on my old computer.
However, when John assessed the SSD on my old computer he found it still had lots of room on it, so he installed it on my new computer. Therefore I did not have to re-install software. But when I tried to re-activate Adobe 2017, I could not do it. The website wants to sell me a new licence.
So I asked Google what is going on and found myself on this site. The interesting thing is that if I had not de-activated Adobe 2017 from the old computer, I would not have had this problem. So I have difficulty believing that Adobe cannot access the activation server. After all, it allowed me to de-activate the program on my computer just a few days ago.
This is not like me wanting Adobe to buy me new furniture because my house burned down. It is more like Adobe allowed me to lock the door to my house and now will not let me unlock the door. Instead they want to sell me a new house.
Grrrrr!!
