Hello Robert,
Both Acrobat 8 and 9 are declared as End of Support i.e. End of Support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support or distribute runtimes. This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products).
For more information, refer to End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)
The Acrobat Pro 9 was not tested on Windows 7 machine at our end, as the last operating system support for Acrobat 9 was Windows Vista Basic or Premium. So you may try to install it on Windows 7, but it may or may not work.
Technical specification of Acrobat 9 Adobe Acrobat system requirements
I will suggest which may or may not work, you can uninstall the Acrobat 9 using the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and then reinstall it from Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9
If this does not work, Sadly, there isn't much that can be done to fix this issue. Hope this helps and clarifies.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

using windows 7. I don't have a screen shot at the moment because I was forced to purchase the subscription which I hope to cancel in a few days. This is the "Distiller issue" that I have read about in the community. I have adobe pro 8 and 9. Both of these quit making PDF's at the same time. I was using 9 when this happened. I removed 9 from my laptop and then installed adobe pro 8 with the same results no PDF's. The distiller issue appeared in both instances. I tried uninstalling Microsoft updates but it would not let me. It appears the distiller part of the program has malfunctioned, how can this be repaired? I am thinking the problem lies with the Microsoft up-date that won't go away. I would like to get my originals to work, they are superior for what I am using the program for + I know how to use them.
