Adobe runs very slow when moving from comment to comment, after last update

New Here ,
Apr 12, 2023 Apr 12, 2023

After the March update installed, I have noticed a huge slowdown when reviewing comments. A major part of my job is to review Adobe pdf comments. When I click on the next comment, it takes anywhere from 15 seconds to 1 minute for Adobe to refresh to the page that comment is on, so I can add my reply.

This is not just happening to me. This is  happening for my entire team. We have turned off "show online storage when opening files" and "show online storage when saving files" and it's still very slow.

Can you please look into this and get this fixed as soon as possible? Or at the very least, tell me how I can fix it? This is causing major delays in our work turnaround time.

Thank you.

Hi Catherine29370718btwc,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share more information about the issue with us?

- Share the Acrobat version number in use.

- Share the OS version

- Does it happens with particular files?

- Would you mind sharing any sample PDF so we can check it?

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi.

Apologies for the delay. Because I cannot share one of our pdfs, due to company confidentiality reasons, I had to mock one up, which I attached. Most of us should be using the below:

Adobe Acrobat v 23.001.20143

Windows 10

It happens with most of the pdfs that get generated through our word processing system. As we publish books, we have strict standards as the fonts the word processing system uses, so we cannot change fonts. Going from comment to comment in the pdf that I attached does not take as much time as some of the pdfs that I work on, but still seems to have a lag.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thank you.

Catherine

Hi @Catherine29370718btwc ,

Thank you for sharing the file.

Could you please let us know more about how this file is genrated. You mentioned a word processing system. Do you mean these PDF files are created by converting word file from Microsoft word to Adobe Acrobat?

And if so, are these being created by export functionality inside Microsoft word or by any other means?

Also, if you check on any other file which is not generated by this word processing system, are you still experiencing the issue?

Thanks,

Prashant.
