Adobe update to 2023.001.20143 throwing errors

New Here ,
Apr 18, 2023 Apr 18, 2023

Getting errors across many computers I manage.  It  happens on version 2023.001.20143 Continous Release after adobe auto upgrade.

The client get this message sporatically " The instructions at 0x7755732a referneced memory at 0x0000000c. The memory could not be written. Click ok to terminate the program."

Guessing this version is buggy.  Is their a workaround or when is the next adobe patch. I have told my uses to wait for a patch or use another pdf viewer in the mean time.

Hi ryanl87403714,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please share the following details to investigate this issue:

- Did you start experiencing this issue after the update?

- Do you get the error on application launch?

- Share the screenshot of the error message.

- Share the OS version on the machine.

Please try the steps suggested in the following community thread with a similar discussion: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/acrobat-reader-application-error-quot-the-....

If that does not help, try reinstalling the application using the following steps:

 - Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).

- Reboot your machine and install the application from this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html.

Check if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Both 32bit installs and 64bit installs are throwing the error on reader and acrobat. I get more reports of these errors everyday as more folks auto update.

I have a similar issue with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Windows - Bad Image Exception Processing Message 0xc000007b - Unexpected Parameters. If it is not happening now on a computer now, it is either using Edge, Foxit Reader, or an earlier version of Reader. It definitely starts when I install the version 2023.001.20143.  Our previous Reader package was old and was not patching via the third-party patching in MECM so I used the Customization Wizard to create a 2023 package with the latest patch. It uninstalls reader and then installs the latest package.  I uninstalled Reader and Edge worked fine.  I reinstalled the old package that was Reader DC 20.009.20063. That worked without a hitch until I patched it. 32-bit installs on Windows 10 v22H2

LATEST

The really interesting thing is I made Edge the default app for PDFs and the messages stopped.......until I tried the Adobe Acrobat extension in Edge and tried to view a PDF.  Same message! Windows - Bad Image

Exception Processing Message 0xc000007b - Unexpected parameters. OK

You get it four times.  So, any time you open a PDF, you have to click OK on the message four times.  The issue started for some of our users after the April Microsoft updates. If we user older versions of Reader, there are no issues.
