Hi,

I work in IT and a costumer of mine has following issue.

on the SQL Server we save many .pdf Files which are named with numbers. (1.pdf/2.pdf etc.)

Now I have a Microsoft Ticket open since May (When the issue appeared) and we can't seem to find a solution. MS was able to find out that Adobe IFilter can not see any Content of the PDF Files and therefore won't write down any Information in the Windows Search Database which is used for the Windows Search.

We tried many thing already:

- Updating

- Reinstalling Adobe Reader / IFilter

- Installing IFilter through HTTP and FTP

- Uninstalling most Porgramms which work with pdf Files

- Deactivating Anti Virus / Firewall

- .pdf Files are not temporary files (Attribute 0x20)

- Ownership of folder and permissions are ok

- Created another folder in C: Drive -> same issue

- Checked Indexing Settings and reindexed folder

- Checked Folderpermission to be indexed

- all DISM / SFC commands

- restarted Windows Search Service

Kind regards,

Robin

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also go through the help page (https://adobe.ly/3zAYXAY) and see if that works.

Good day

Unfortunately, the workaround from the link did not work. Adobe Acrobat Reader version 2024.002.20895 is installed..

Hi there,

Have you tried the registry fix as described in the help page shared earlier? Please try to follow the steps in the sequence as they appear in the help page and let us know how it goes.

LATEST

Good day

I have followed the instructions exactly. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. We have tested it with the latest Adobe Reader version and iFilter 11. Both are installed and we have tried both registry entries.
After changing the registry entries, we also restarted the Windows Search service and recreated the index.
