Advanced Search hanging

New Here ,
Aug 13, 2024 Aug 13, 2024

HI,

We are experiencing an issue when using the advanced search function in PDF files. It causes Acrobat to become very slow and unresponsive. The files are located on a fileserver drive. I have tried using another device, but the issue persists.

Hi @DPG36656985vtor

Sorry for the troubled experience and delayed response.

I'm following up to check if your issue is resolved. For more information, please refer to this help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/protected-mode-troubleshooting-reader.html.

Have you tried several files locally and tried running an advanced search? You may also try adding the file location to the privileged location. Launch Acrobat, [ windows user > Edit> Preferences, Mac users: Acrobat >Preferences ] > Categories > Security (Enhanced) - check button "Add Files" or "Add Folder Path." After adding the location path, try re-launching Acrobat.

If the issue persists, please help us with the following details:

  • A video showing an advanced search for local files vs. files on the file server.
  • Acrobat version installed on the machine.
  • Operating system name and version.

Please ensure Acrobat is updated to the latest version. To check for pending updates, launch Acrobat > Help > Check for updates.
