Hi all

I tried hiding my all tools pane permanently by changing my preferences to "Remember current state of Tools Pane". But the All Tools Pane still keeps on popping up when I open a pdf document. Any help please?

My adobe Acrobat also looks different to what I see on the Internet. I just downloaded it so it has to be the latest version. But it looks so different that I'm not sure.

Hi @Lizzy30301000xp1t

Sorry to hear about your experience.

The screenshot shows that this is the Acrobat's new view. Have you changed the following preferences setting "Remember the current state of Toolpane" after installing the update or before the update?

Could you please go back and check the preferences setting once again?

1-

Would you mind sharing the Adobe Acrobat version you are using? To check the version, go to Help > about Acrobat and ensure you have the recent version 23.001.2017x installed.

To check the update,

Go to Acrobat> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)

To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

2- After changing the preferences, click ok, close, and reopen the app to apply the changes.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Having this same issue.  From some research it appears there are some "initial" settings that trigger when you open Acrobat (both free and paid versions).  These intial settings override the check box to remember the tool state.  These initial settings CANNOT be changed in the free version.  It appears you are using the free version (I see the trial ad in the bottom left).  So, like me and millions of others, we are stuck with Adobe's forced settings.  I am currently looking for a different PDF viewer...
