I just started trying to use Acrobat 2017 Pro, and I'm looking for an alternative program. I've used Acrobat 8 Pro for years. Acrobat 8 does all I need, and I love it. I hate Acrobat 2017. I either can't find the tools or they are in some weird spot. The entire program is hard to use and visually not appealing. Does anyone know of another program which can be used to create fillable froms from pdf documents, fill forms, and print to pdf. That's basically all I use Acrobat to do. I'd be happy to switch back when they develop something better. The currently available Acrobat programs are terrible, and so is customer support.

The Adobe Forums is not really the place to ask for alternatives to their own software. It's like going to a Chevy dealership and ask for recommendations for a good Ford...

I was thinking of perhaps an earlier version of Acrobat, like X or XI. This new version is just not working for me.

Ah, OK, that makes more sense, but Adobe doesn't offer any of the old versions of its software, so that would be moot... Your options are Acrobat DC or 2020, either as Pro or Standard.

I'm currently attempting to download an earlier version of Acrobat for the same reasons. Been a user since early days and the DC layout is not for me. ftp://ftp.adobe.com

Even if you can “download” an installer for an earlier version of Acrobat from Adobe or elsewhere, please remember:
(1) Adobe no longer sells any licenses to those earlier versions of Acrobat.
(2) A license of Acrobat 2015, Acrobat 2017, or Acrobat 2020 (or even a subscription to Acrobat DC) will not activate copies of Acrobat 11 or earlier.
