App/Software Comparison & Hierarchy

I'm not sure where to post this, but I'm seeking a resource that compares app/software functions & also their hierarchies. My goal is to avoid the support chat as much as possible & minimize time spent unsucessfully searching for simple answers such as "what Acrobat tool should I use to edit PDF border color"? 

I began a support chat today asking this question and was informed I should use Publisher, not Adobe Acrobat. When I asked for a chart or webpage that compares the different app functions, I was passed around to 3 reps & never got a relevant response. I'd love to have a self-help reference to avoid these situations in the future.

I found this awesome chart from a 3rd party named Academy Class. Is there something similar that Adobe maintains?
