Hey folks, I know this issue has been posted several times on here already but I've tried all the fixes listed and nothing has worked so far.
The issue: PDF that opened fine in Adobe Acrobat Pro for months before suddenly showing sections and pages that were completely scrambled and garbled text. Restarted computer and reopened, previous garbled text was now in Wingdings. Clicking on it to edit shows that it's some Z@R____.tmp font instead of Arial.
The context: I'd recently gotten the update that introduced the "new" look of Acrobat to the program. Was testing the PDF (so using prepare form, going in preview, and then fiddling with entries and buttons to make sure all behavior was expected). I made duplicates of the original file to test and didn't save any changes I made on these duplicated documents. I hit the print button twice on accident, the program lagged out, so I closed it and re-opened it and the first garbled text showed.
More details: My system is running on Windows 11 Pro, 10.0.22621 and Adobe Acrobat Pro ver. 2023.003.20284. I've tried closing and re-opening the file, deleting existing duplicates, making new duplicates, restarting my computer, fixing my installation of Adobe Acrobat, letting my computer sit, and uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat. Nothing has worked so far. The file opens fine in Chrome, but in Adobe Acrobat Pro, it has those sections of Wingdings. If I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro, the Wingdings shows in that final PDF.
Any help would be much appreciated. I only ask that solutions involving application menus include images, since I've seen some other solutions online where it's quite difficult to search for the required button due to outdated versions and whatnot.
