Try a couple of steps suggested below and see if that helps:
1- Open acrobat> Help>Repair Installation
2- If Help>check for an update did not work, then download it from here: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html
If it still doesn't work, then
Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

Download the Acrobat Reader installer from here:
https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
