I check work via Acrobat PRO. When I open most jobs the background is gone. I see it mostly with white type on blue backgrounds. If i save the PDF to my desktop and open it in READER i can see it fine. Why is this happening??

What are the backgrounds of your PDF files? Are they images or solid colors? Can you provide an example?

Go into Acrobat's preferences, then go into the Accessiblity category and make sure that the replace colors setting is not turned on. If that’s not the issue, then this is really odd. Do you have access to anohter computer with Acrobat on it?

The other thing I would check is "Overprint preview" in the "Page Display" category. See if changing this setting has an effect on how the document looks.

Which one was it? Overprint preview or the change colors setting?
