Bad parameter when comparing documents

Guest

Dear,

Today I have installed and purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for the sole purpose of comparing documents. The documents are PDF's (version 1.6, Acrobat 7.x) and consists of 200-700 pages. Whenever I try to compare them I get the error:

"Bad parameter". That is it. No extra guidance.

I have taken to Google and learned this may be solved by saving the PDF again to check if it is corrupt. This works (and gives no error message). I have also tried solving this issue by adding a blank form to the PDF (by using the combine optionality) .

This returns the following error: "Expected an array object". I get above errors on all settings: Reports, spreadsheets etc + Scanned documents + with/without "compare text only" ticked.

Please advice on how to solve this issue.

Kind regards,

Mels

Thank you for your help.

I have tried the solution posted there, and this did not solve the problem (I made sure to combine the one page blank pdf form at the end of the PDF's I try to compare (if this matters)). The error I get is: "Expected an Array Object".

Version: 11.0.19

AGM Version: 4.28.148

CoolType Version 5.11.148

Core Version 11.19

JP2K version 2.0.00.37661

I have tried other documents that I own, and those seem to work.

I just want to know how to solve the error: Expected an Array Object. Because the documents that I need to compare right now, all give this error.

How did you create the documents?

Following the Solution to "Bad Parameter"

File - create - create form - blank PDF.

Then file - create - Combine files into a single PDF, where I selected the PDF I want to compare and the blank form.

I then combined them.

I did this for both PDF documents. I made sure to put the blank form behind the larger file (250+ pages).

And the error arises for all compare documents options (including text only).

Kind regards,

Mels

Good pointer.

Apparently all works OK except for:

PDF Producer: Aspose.Pdf for .NET 7.5.0

Is there anything I can do to fix a file created by this producer?

Try to print the PDF files using Ctrl+ P with Printer: ADOBE PDF and use the output PDF files generated as an input to the Compare Documents?
