Baffled By New Acrobat GUI Configuration and Page Counter

Jan 25, 2024 Jan 25, 2024

Wonder if anyone knows the answers to these two questions regarding the "New Acrobat" GUI for 2024:

1) The "old" Acrobat showed page numbering above a document, and I could navigate to a specific page number, showed which page number I was on (without referencing the thumbnail images).  How is this implemented in the "new" Acrobat?  I cannot seem to find this handy feature.

2) Can I change the Right Hand Side Position of the page thumbnails and commands that previously were shown on the left hand side of the document page?  I'm an old-timer...while I do wish to use the new GUI, I feel confused when looking for icons to clickk on file level commands...where is the setting to move these icons to the left hand side of the page?  Do I have to go through the entire program setup to do this?

You must revert to the Classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-in...
Consider the new Acrobat as a beta version, many features are still missing or half-implemented.

Somehow, fiddling with the options, I now see the page numbers on the lower right hand siude of the page.  Not sure what I did to get it to appear...  Have not yet been able to figure out how to change the nvaiugation controls to the left hand side of the page, but slowly getting used to looking for them on the right.  Problem solved.

Revert to the old GUI.

Will we be able to keep the old GUI or at some point are we going to be forced to the new one? I really found the floating toolbar,  particularly since it is vertical instead of horizontal.

At some stage, the new GUI will over. It's still work in progress, currently. And not all of the functionality is operational.

That can't be disapointing, as long as you can revert to the old interface.

You can't (yet?) change the controls from one side to the other.
