I'm looking for an App that can re-name hundreds of PDFs at once. Ultimately, I'd like one that could "delete all characters before "2026-1" (or anyother string)". I used to use R-Name, but it doesn't exist any longer.
Thanks.

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Acrobat can't rename files. You can create copies with new names using the Action wizard (Guided actions tool) in Acrobat Pro and then delete all of the original files as long as the copies stays. For more information, please check the help page https://adobe.ly/4pTS8zp
You may also go through the correct answer marked in a similar discussion https://adobe.ly/3XHCQlq and see if that helps.

Adobe Bridge can batch rename. It can't remove partial name info but it can increment sequentially.

This is not really a PDF-specific issue, if you just want to rename the files. There are plenty of utilities out there that can do that. Personally, I like Bulk Rename Utility, available here: https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/

Ant Renamer is a good choice too: https://www.antp.be/software/renamer
