Beginner wanting to calculate from drop down responses

I have ten sets of data.  Within the ten sets are two drop downs with the following choices.  Certified;Copy:No POD;Obit  The drop downs are named POD 1, POD 1A, POD 2, POD 2A, POD 3, POD 3A, POD 4, POD 4A, POD 5, POD 5A, continuing through 10A.  I know absolutely nothing about Java Script, so any suggestions for resources or code would be appricated.

What do you want to calculate exactly? If it's some simple calculations, add number/value as export values of dropdown choices.
