Blank drop down option and esignature

I want to have a blank option in my drop down but even when the form is filled out ( have a "space" option for a blank), it errors when I want to send for esignature.  I could put a "." option but a bunch of periods in blank spaces looks wacky.

I have now put in the Export Values in the drop down menu

but it still errors in "Request for Esignature" and "Export Values" stay blank
