Bookmarks stopped "sticking" after saving and exiting PDFs

Suddenly today my bookmarks are not being saved after quitting a document. Is there a way to fix this? I've never had this issue before.

What application are you using? What OS version?

Does this happen with all files, or just some?

How are you creating the bookmarks?

Are you manually saving the file before closing it?

This behavior stopped later in the evening. I began in the new Acrobat mode then went back to the old interface.  I manually updated to DC Pro 2024.002.21005. (Latest Ventura.) The issue persisted for a bit and then stopped. It was and still is scary to see my bookmarks disappear whenever I quit Acrobat.

I have a keyboard command to insert bookmarks. I was saving documents before quitting the app.

I will continue to monitor this and will report back if the problem reoccurs.

Thanks for asking.
