Bug: Enhance Image function not working in latest update

I'm running this on Windows 11...

I important an image to be enhance.  Click OCR on the left, then click the Enhance Camera Image.  Sometimes the blue corners/handles appear.  When they do, I adjust them as necessary.  However, the drop-down (in green box attached) never appears.  I had to do a screenshot from an online source for this.

Screenshot 2024-07-18 152732.jpg

I've had 2 one hour long chat sessions with the tech department.  Both have been able to get it to work again.  However, upon logging in and closing the program, the problem starts the next day again.  The last tech person told me not to update and clicked the update automatically preference off.  After that session, I reopened Acrobat, and the preference was clicked on again.  Rather than sitting with IT for another hour, I clicked "Disable new Acrobat".   While it's the old version that I don't know as well as the newest, all the functions work now.

It's unfortunate because my company pays good money for this product and I'm having to use an old version.

Any ideas out there?  The tech person hopefully passed it along as something that needs to be fixed.  They admitted their personal Acrobat does that too.

Same here, It's only happening on my newer Adobe on my laptop--it's working fine on my older one at work. It tells me to use the handles to adjust page borders before selecting the enhance impage but then after doing so NOTHING. So annoying. I miss old Adobe with the tools at the top, easy to access, and FUNCTIONING. Updaters don't know when to stop.

Hi @Admissions386196150q6m @Rachel38727415q3th

Following up to check if you are still experiencing this issue or not. I tried reproducing the issue, but I was not able to reproduce it in-house.

An update for the app was released yesterday. Try updating your app, restarting the app, and reproducing the issue.

If it continues, help us with the following information:

  • OS name and version
  • Application version
  • A sample file and a screenshot of the issue.

Yes, this is still happening with multiple users for us.  It works fine if we switch to the old interface but not with the new UI.  The handles show up but the dialog to cleck Enhance never does.  This happens with an jpg image that has been converted to a PDF using Acrobat.

Hi @jonc33645010

Thanks for reaching out. Would it be possible for you to connect with us over an MS Team meeting?

If yes, please click on my profile/Avatar; you can see a button 'Message' at the top left corner. Help us with your Time zone and preferred email ID. Since this issue is not reproducible at our end, it would be helpful to check the workflow and help us gather information about the issue.

Thanks, Tariq.

This is an incredibly frustrating issue that, based on search results, appears to be a very common and widespread problem. I had the same problem quite a few months ago, and the only thing I could do was to revert to the old version.  Recently, I changed back to the newest version because there was a feature that I needed to use, but the problem with not having an option to select "Enhance" remains.

I will note that I made sure that Acrobat had been updated to the most-recent version a few moments ago, including restarting my computer, but the same problem remains.  Please fix this.

I am having the exact same issue with the new interface. Sometimes the blue dot handles will appear to select the area to enhance, but then nothing else follows. Saving, restarting, nothing returns the functionality. After finding this thread, I disabled the new Acrobat and now enhance works. But everything is reverted. I don't see how Adobe cannot replicate the issue as there are plenty of people who can. I surmise it's a smaller number of people who actually use the enhance function so the problem is left to simmer. It is disappointing considering what Adobe charges for a product that is not functioning as claimed and advertised.

Hi, @amyw83989251!

Sorry for the troubled experience. This issue seems to be intermittent in most of the situations.
Is it possible we can connect for this?
