Calculators, number and letter connectors

New Here ,
Oct 22, 2020 Oct 22, 2020

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and need to find calculator (adding tapes),  some annotations or markups that I was able to use in my previous accounting job. There were some 'connectors' that were capital letters with circles around them. We used them for footing and cross footing. We also used mathematical symbols which could be green or red and small numbers with circles around them, also for footing and cross footing. Can anyone tell me if I have the right Adobe for these tools and where to find them? Thanks.

I am looking for the same.  The one I used previously was a CCH product that was part of their package and could be added to MS Excel as well.

Hello @neal_igu!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the workflow and the requirements?

As per the description, you're asking whether Adobe Acrobat Pro DC includes the calculator-style annotations and letter/number connectors you used in your previous accounting role, specifically tools like:

  • Adding tapes or calculator-style annotations
  • Capital letters in circles for footing and cross-footing
  • Colored mathematical symbols and circled numbers

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC includes a robust set of annotation and markup tools, such as:

  • Lines, arrows, shapes, and text boxes
  • Custom stamps and drawing tools
  • Color and style customization for comments and shapes.

You can access these via All Tools > Comment > Drawing Tools or by right-clicking on the toolbar and enabling Commenting Tools. See this Adobe article for more information: Use annotation and drawing markup tools to add comments in PDFs.

However, the specific accounting-style connectors (like circled letters and numbers, or calculator tapes) are not native features of Acrobat Pro DC.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
