I know this is a long shot. I still have CS4 and Acrobat 9 Pro. Apparently Acrobat 9 does not have the interactive import option. I want to create a document in Indesign CS4 using simple buttons that will take the reader to a particular page (not just next/previous) in the document. Then create a pdf that will be able to use those buttons. I can export to SWF but Acrobat 9 does not import the buttons. I can create the needed buttons in Acrobat itself but this is a time consuming extra step.
Thanks,
Paul

It should have that option. You have to select a check box on the export as PDF dialog, as shown here: Exporting Interactive Elements out of InDesign into PDFs (CS4 and CS5) | Tiny Tutorials' Adobe Class...

If you export as Interactive from InDesign CS4, the fields (buttons) that are created usually work fine in Acrobat/Reader.

Thanks, George. But InDesign CS4 does not have an interactive option when exporting. Apparently this option didn't come along til later versions. I just thought someone might know of a work around.

Great! It took me awhile but I found it. I had to create a new Adobe PDF Preset. It looks like this might work for what I need. Thanks for the help George.
