I am trying to update acrobat by checking for updates in acrobat. The process keeps hanging when it reaches file msvcp140_atomic_wall.dll. I also tried the offline installer and get stuck in the same place. How do I get around this?

@Robert38872620adm1 the file 'msvcp140_atomic_wall.dll,' error message is telling you are missing or corrupted Microsoft system files that Adobe Acrobat relies on. It's a part of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages. Acrobat needs these packages to run, and the installer is getting stuck because it can't find or properly install one of these dependencies. Either manually install or repair the required Microsoft component.

It's okay now. Thhe update took a very long time to run in general but it is now complete. Why it hesitated there I can not explain. No corrupted files per sfc scannow. and dism.

My second comment woul be that if this is a redistributable file then acorbat is installing it. Otherwise why even report in the GUI on files that are being used but not installed. Redistributable literally means that you are packaging the file with your product. A little better logging would help a user understand what is going on. Does the adobe install have a log file?
