When I go to Create, Multiple Files, a window shows where you have to select one of 3 options. Combine Files, Create Multiple PDF Files, or Create PDF portfolio. I want to Combine Files. I choose that, click Next, and i add my files and it creates it as a portfolio anyway.

I'm on Windows. I believe I am on new inteface as i have no menu at the top bar.
If iI go to Options and I turn that off, then I can no longer click Combine Files in the top right, it grays out
It's silly that I clicked to create a single file, yet that checkbos of save as pdf portfolio is checked, and hidden under Options in the top.

Are any of the files you're trying to combine signed, encrypted or were created using LiveCycle Designer?
[Edited: Combine, not convert...]

Acrobat will show a warning at the bottom of it's screen. The only difference between the two interfaces is one has red type and the newer one has black.

One of my files does require a password to edit the file. So when importing it it asked for the password and I clicked Cancel at that screen for the password. I dont want to edit the file. But, also I do not see that red warning you are showing in that screenshot.

However, combining requires editing the file, so that's why you couldn't combine. No so for a portfolio.

@try67 I think you are right. AEM/LC fonts can be added to a portfolio but not combined with a different type of PDF.
@Radial Monster Check your files under Document Properties (just Properties in the old interface), then the Descripton tab.
