Can't extract ANY pages from signed document

Explorer ,
Apr 03, 2023 Apr 03, 2023

With the latest upgrade to Acrobat, the ability to extract pages in a signed document has gone away.

Or has it gone to a different location within Acrobat.

Help, I use extracted pages in signed documents daily.  I just made the mistake of clicking "UPDATE ALL" on my Creative Cloud page.

Please go to Edit - MODIFY PAGE, there will be a Extract Page icon for you to extract the signed page.

(typing above just in case my snip doesn't show in the text box)

Hi @becky5FEA ,

I've observed this behavior too in my Acrobat Pro after unattended updates.

If I am not mistaken, you are referring to the "Organize Pages" tool, and you should be able to bring back that tool's shortcut to the navigation panel.

Use the link below as a quick reference to get you back on track:

Got to the Tools Center and see if the desired tool is listed there.

If it is, just add it back to your navigation panel or shortcuts toolbar.

I have the Organize Tool.  The page extraction only works in unsigned documents.  Used to work in signed documents (had to extract all pages).  Now it doesn't work in signed documents.

Can you confirm if  any folder attributes have changed? Specifically on the folders that the documents are extracted to.

If , for example, they are read-only or if the current user account doesn't have write access to them anymore.

Just for testing purposes, you can try opening the Acrobat program as Administrator.

If you are able to extract files normally with Admin rights than we may be able to narrow down the issue to local user policy restrictions and reset the user policy accordingly.

Using the same file, from obviously same location.  I cannot extract ANY pages of that signed document in the "NEW" version of Acrobat.

Going back to the old version, I opened the exact same file, and I can extract the pages.

It's not about rights to the file.  It is just that the new version doesn't allow page extraction from a signed document.  Or at least my version of it.  (Said because this is a trial and some people got more functions than others.)

I understand Adobe wants to have fantastic security.... Here is my dilemma - I send a 5 page document out to a client. They sign them and and I then I need to send those 5 pages to different places. I can't extract those pages to send them individually - Adobe has decided to force that document to stay as one file in the name of "security". I sent the document out, my clients understand the individual pages are going to different place but Adobe refuses to allow me to change the security settings on a signed document. I don't want to send out 5 individual documents to my clients. It is tedious for them and confusing.

The workaround is simply to print the document as a PDF and then extract or edit whatever I need. Removing the extraction feature of a signed document simply adds an annoying step to the process. Let me extract my pages from a signed document.

Hi Becky,

Please find the attached snip for extracting signed PDF documents.

Instead of the original way - Organize Pages - to extract signed documents, above is the new way to solve the issue.

Hope it helps.
