Can't mass change comments, and comments become locked after revision

I need to mass-change the author name on a number of comments on a PDF; keep in mind this is something I've done easily for many years, and now I'm unable to change the properties of multiple comments at once. Additionally, once I revise the properties of a single comment, that comment becomes locked. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no effect.

I need this tool in order to move forward with this PDF.

What happens when you try to change the author name on a number of comments on a PDF at once? Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.2089x installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
 
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
 
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here (https://adobe.ly/4cTKYof) and see if that works.
