Can't open files.

I can no longer get to my files without signing up for another free trial. Once I X the trial offer, my files close out.

You are probably opening the files saved on Adobe Cloud storage using Acrobat Pro (free trial). If the trial has ended post 7 days, you won't be able to use the app or access files through it. It's a paid product.

 

Better to uninstall Acrobat Pro and download Acrobat Reader freeware to open/view and annotate the pdf.

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
