Can't open multiple PDF on Net-drive that points to local computer

this problem has the same symptoms as the following resolved issue:

While the Problem doesn't occur for us on any Shared Network Drive it does still happens in a rather specific case.

We add a drive via GPO to the clients which points to their local user: \\%computername%\c$\Users\%USERNAME%

Now you cannot open multiple PDFs via double click when the file is saved by OneDrive or is in a Sharepoint any other locations work completely fine.

It has the exact same issue as the above thread and the troubleshoot from it (disabling protected mode) works. But we can't really go around all our users and disable the option.

 

Would be nice to hear if it would be possible to fix this bug in a future update.
