Cannot convert PPT to PDF

New Here ,
Oct 01, 2022 Oct 01, 2022

I have Microsoft 365 Personal and Adobe Acrobat Standard DC (Version 2022.002.20212) and cannot convert a Powerpoint file to a PDF.  It worked several days ago but for some frustrating reason it does not work now.  The following error message appears - AN UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURRED.  PDFMAKER WAS UNABLE TO PRODUCE ADOBE PDF.  No problems in converting MS Word and Excel, but not Powerpoint.  Please advise?

I also am having this issue, that all of a sudden I am unable to create a PDF from PPT and it worked fine just a couple days ago. This is a feature that is critical for my line of work and am now at a standstill. Please let me know how to fix this.

This seems to be an issue all the way around for many people.  It starts to change the PPT into a PDF and then says, "An unexpected error occurred.  PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF." Super frustrating.  I did all of the tricks when you google the problem.  SOS.

Same issue here. Just spent two hours on two seperate desktops uninstalling and installing everything from Creative Cloud to O365 and the problem persists. I know it's app specific because it's happening on two computers, multiple presentations, regardless of conversion settings. Please help!

I have having the same error and it just occured.  I have reinstalled both MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Neither worked.  It's seems to be a legit issue between Adobe and Microsoft.

I contacted Adobe support this morning and they confirmed this is a known issue and cause is from the latest O365 update. It has been reported as a bug and is being worked on. Hopefully, if someone from the Adobe team comes across this post, they can share additional information.

Hi, same problem here. Ive spent many hours trying to find a way to solve the problem but it persists. My recomendation to carry on with work is to use "I love pdf" web site resources

I have tried I love pdf and several other online converters but none of them will convert correctly with what I work with, specifically hyperlinks. They all take away the font color and I'm not even sure all the links would still work in what I got back. That's why its critical they do fix this soon as I am getting really far behind on what I need to get done.

Same issue here and I just got off a chat with Microsoft and they of course claim to know nothing about it and are saying it must be an adobe issue. They also told me I could use the export function instead of save as pdf but that is not working either. I can convert from Word and Excel just not from PPT.

It seems to be a Microsoft issue so the recommendation was to revert to the last update which is on 9/13. Super frustrating.

This is the bug number I was given by the Adobe rep I chatted with this morning. They are aware for sure but it is because of the latest O365 update. Regardless, at least we know Adobe is working on it: ADC-4379203

Sweet! Just tried that workaround myself and it preserved formatting/fonts/etc. Should do the trick for now until it's fixed 🙂

Thank you!!  I had tried everything online and nothing worked, but didn't think of this!  Awesome and I just tried it and it kept ALL my hyperlinks and font colors! I am so HAPPY! Thank you for finding this workaround :). And I am so glad I found this thread, thank you grafx78 for starting it and Efrain for finding the solution ❤️

LATEST

I was able to do it just by saving it as a PDF, I just change the file name.PPTX to filename.PDF
