I print nearly all of my MS Outlook emails to PDF in separate topical folders. This process worked great for many years. After an update recently there is a glitch which significantly cuts down my productivity.
Set up:
Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2025.001.20844
MS Windows 11 Pro (starting glitching in Windows 10)
Steps:
1. In an open email I press the "Print" icon
2. I check that "Adobe PDF" is the default printer. The glitch happens in CutePDF and MS Print to PDF as well.
3. The "Save Print Output As" window opens in the last folder I was in.
4. I left click on the most recently created file to populate its' name in the "File name" field below. I sort emails alphanumerically by date yymmdd- time (251101-1130)
5. I left click the file in the "File Name" field and it highlights in blue
6. I left click so that the cursor is near the date or time so I can edit them
7. Here's the new glitch. If I press "delete", "backspace", or sometimes the spacebar and sometimes a letter or numeral, there is a chime, the cursor disappears, and I can't edit any more. I have to left click where I left off and then I can edit any part of the file name. Previously, I could edit any part of the file name that I needed. This happens 80%-85% of the time but not usually if I choose a new folder where it works w/o glitching. This is maddening. I would love to record the steps so someone can observe this.
I really need to fix this please. Thanks for any ideas.

Hello!
After a recent Windows update, printing Outlook emails to PDF using virtual printers like Adobe PDF now triggers a glitch in the “Save Print Output As” dialog. When editing the filename, pressing keys like delete or backspace causes the input field to lose focus and disables typing until you click again. This issue affects myfordbenefits multiple printers and is tied to a Windows UI bug. Workarounds include using F2 to rename, switching folders, updating or rolling back Windows, or using Outlook’s built-in PDF export to bypass the dialog.

Thanks for the ideas. I think it is indeed a Microsoft GUI issue and will post the question on a MS community.
