Cannot resize or move comments

New Here ,
May 04, 2023 May 04, 2023

I'm using a new version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. When I add a text box or plain text comment, I cannot move or resize the comment or frame. The comments are not shown as locked in the properties menu. This also applies to shapes (I often use rectangles to box text that needs to be edited). Does anyone have any tips for fixing this?

Hello,

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

If you're unable to resize or move comments in Adobe Acrobat, consider the following steps:

Ensure Commenting Tools Are Active:

Navigate to Menu> Tools > Comment > Open. This action activates the commenting tools, allowing you to select, move, and resize comment boxes.

Select the Appropriate Tool:

After opening the commenting tools, ensure you've selected the appropriate tool (e.g., Text Box, Sticky Note) to modify existing comments. Support article: https://adobe.ly/3XupJo2

Check for Document Restrictions:

Some PDFs have security settings that restrict editing or commenting. To verify:

Go to Menu> Properties > Security tab.

Ensure that Commenting is allowed. If not, you may need to contact the document creator to adjust the permissions.

Update Adobe Acrobat: Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/3F7j2lo.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

I had the same issue.  Closing out and re-launching worked!

I agree, for huge multi-billion dollar company, they provide little support for such common issues.  Why do we need to self analysize all problems, and why are so many issues.  I pay a large annual fee to get ZERO professional support.  Listen up ADOBE! We are fed up with your business model.

I am sick of this. I have to continually close and relaunch Adobe as the comment boxes quit letting you resize the box in the middle of working on a doccument! This is so frustrating, It has to be happening with more people, I can't be the only one!
