changing the email address linked to my adobe account

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 and am logged in to my Adobe account using an email address that no longer is active.

I would like to be able to sign out and sign back in but can't.

How do I change the email address linked to my Adobe account?

I emailed Adobe at **scam email address**@outlook.com and they told me my old Adobe account can't be recovered (because the email address it is tied to is no longer functioning, I can't change the password etc) so I had to create a new Adobe account.
