Chrome extension keeps installing

Explorer ,
Feb 16, 2025 Feb 16, 2025

It adds itself to any new Chrome profile, even with new Windows users.

I've gone through a dozen different troubleshooting recommendations online and I cannot find how the extension keeps adding itself to new Chrome profiles.

Somebody please explain. Otherwise I'll need to completely uninstall Adobe Reader on all of my computers (including work computers), never install them again, recommend to anyone I know that there's effectively malware on my computer from Adobe that can't be removed (and is behaving deceiptfully, as in, when it's removed, it's not actually removed), and maybe write a blog or post a video about the incessent unauthorized behavior Adobe is trying to ram into our Chrome experience.

By the way, when I downloaded the Reader install, I unchecked the box to include the Chrome extension. So it just ignored what I asked, and now won't remove itself from my home. It's quite the non-consensual behavior here, and I never let anyone into my home again if they refuse to leave.

@D29811680u0p9  have you tried to temporarily disable Chrome profile sync to see if that prevents the extension from reappearing in new profiles.
