Hello,
currently I am facing a strange behavior when closing documents in Acrobat Reader.
Since a long time I am opening "child documents" out of a "parent document" via JavaScript. That should mean that the "child document" is an attachment of the "parent document". I have no idea if there is a better wording for this scenario but I hope that this describes the case well enough.
The usual behavior was that when I open the "parent document" and afterwards the "child document" via JavaScript I get a second tab in Acrobat Reader for the "child document" and I could switch between both documents and I could close them independently. But now the “child document” is also been closed when closing the “parent document” so it is not possible to keep the “child document” open after the “parent document” has been closed. I just discovered this behavior and I don’t know when or how it changed.
Does anyone have an good idea how I could get the old behavior (closing “parent document” without also closing “child document” automatically) back.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you Karl Heinz for your hint.
But after some additional research I am afraid that this behavior is pretty standard and didn’t changed recently and only my impression was wrong.

In that case, I can admit that this would actually be the behavior I would expect. The attachment is part of the patent document, so when that gets closed anything related to it should also be closed
