Combining Files without Portfolios

I am running Adobe XI version 11.0.19.15. About 5 months ago, the program changed how it combined files. Originally I could combine files into a single PDF that I could then do headers, footers, consecutive numbering etc. Then the program changed and started combining as portfolios. I cannot use the headers and footers and there is no consecutive numbering. I might as well not combine the files. I would like my program to work the way it did when I purchased it. Short of litigation, is there anyway to get the product to work the way it use to do so. Thank you Charles M. Bennett

Click the Options button in the Combine Files dialog and change it back to Single PDF.
