Acrobat does not accept full stops in form fields, only commas. Can this be changed?

Is this a Number field? If so, then no. Even if the pattern selected uses periods as the thousands separator you can't actually enter them. They will be added automatically once you leave the field, though.
If you want to allow the user to enter them you'll need to use a custom Format script.

Yes, it is a number field. I almost thought so. I can't understand it. You make a number field so you can use the number pad and then it doesn't work. Somebody understands the programmers.....

It works fine if you enter numbers. You just can't enter the period. But you can use a comma as the decimal separator.
