comment default settings converting word to a pdf

Is there a possible default setting to keep my comments visible on my Word document, but automatically hide them when saving it as a pdf?  I know how to make it transform that way, but I was wondering if there was a setting I could change to make it the default, and only have to take those extra steps if I actually wanted them visible on the pdf copy.

From the Word doc, I would need to 'save as', change the type from Word to PDF, and then Options to change the setting from 'document showing markup' to 'document'.  When comments aren't a factor, I would typically just skip the 'save as' and go straight to the 'save as adobe pdf'.
