Compare files

New Here ,
Dec 03, 2019 Dec 03, 2019

I just downloaded a 7 day free trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I am trying to compare 2 pdf files and it seems that the comparison captured only numbers but not text. There was a message early on that I didn't quite capture that had to do with missing dictionaries or something to that effect. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Hi Abby

We are sorry for the trouble. As described above you are not able to compare the text of the two PDFs

We need more information for a better understanding:

  • What is the version of the application  and the OS of the computer you are using? To check the version of the application please use the link here (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html)
  • What is the error message or code you are getting? Please share the screenshot of the same ?
  • Is this a behavior with a particular PDF or with all the PDF files you try to compare. Try with 2 different files and check.

We are here for help, just need more help

Regards

Amal

Hi Amal,

Thanks for your quick reply.

* It's Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version Continuance Release 2019.021.20056. I have Windows 10.

* The only error message that I got was when I first tried to compare 2 files which has to do with dictionaries being missing or corrupt. I didn't get this message again but I am still not getting an accurate compare.

* I just tried 2 other files and I get the same results. Only numbers but not text comparison.

I just downloaded the 7-day trial tonight specifically to try the compare files feature.
