Converting .msg files to PDF's

New Here ,
Dec 16, 2019 Dec 16, 2019

I'm using Adob Acrobat 2017 pro and I want to be able to batch convert 10 .msg files, I have saved in a folder, to PDF's. I tried to convert them by right-clicking on them and choosing convert to PDF, but it asks for a file name every time I try it. Are there any settings I can choose so the files can be saved with the same name as the emails?

If you want to convert MSG files to PDF, the safest and easiest way is to use a reliable tool. Manual conversion is time-consuming and often results in the loss of attachments or email formatting. I recommend DataVare MSG to PDF Converter. This tool converts single and batch MSG files to PDF and preserves all email properties—To, Cc, Bcc, Subject, Date and Attachments. You can preview emails, maintain the folder structure and choose various settings in the output PDF, such as Page Layout, File Naming and Attachments Embedding.

You can batch convert .msg files to PDFs directly from Acrobat Pro, but there’s no built-in option in Acrobat 2017 to automatically name each output file using the email’s subject line — it’ll always prompt for a name.

A few workarounds:

  1. Use Outlook + Acrobat integration: In Outlook, select multiple emails → Adobe PDF tab → Create New PDF → choose your folder. Acrobat will automatically name the PDFs after the email subjects.
  2. Automate with a script: If you’re familiar with Windows scripting or Power Automate, you can run a script that converts MSG to PDF and retains file names.
  3. Third-party tools: Some dedicated MSG-to-PDF converters (like SysTools or BitRecover) preserve names and attachments in batch.

If you only need to do this occasionally, the Outlook integration route is the most reliable.
