Converting word to pdf - shading in table cell extends past the end of the table

I have a Word 2016 file with several tables in it. The first column is shaded in each table and there are carriage returns and/or page breaks between the tables. When converting the document to PDF, the shading in one of the tables extends past the end of the table, obscuring the text in the page footer. Help!

Please share your resolution.  I have a multi-page table that I am trying to export, eventually to Excel.  Since Excel didn't cooperate at all, I've tried exporting to Word but ran into numerous Continuous Section Breaks and Section Breaks that really throws off the presentation of the data.  Any tips anyone?
