What would be the advantage of disallowing this? There are tons of tools that ignore permissions. And even all users without access to those tools can simply zoom the document appropriately and take a screen shot to get your signature image.

Even if it is possible, it's NOT the same as digitally signing the file. That image can't be validated and it will not appear in the Signatures panel. It's very important not to rely on the visual representation of a digital signature only, as that can be easily duplicated and faked. The only thing that matters is that the signature can be validated against a public key. If it can't be, the file is not really (digitally) signed.

Thanks.

How do I digitally sign myself? I am only offered to send it to another person to have this option and I cannot send it to myself.

It's possible to copy and paste an image of a signature from a signed and protected document because the signature is often just an image file that has been inserted into the document. When you copy and paste the image, you are essentially copying and pasting the visual representation of the signature, rather than the actual signature itself.

To prevent someone from being able to copy and paste the image of a signature from a protected document, you can use a few different methods:

  1. Use a digital signature: A digital signature is a cryptographic process that creates a unique identifier for a document and the person who signed it. This identifier is embedded into the document and can't be easily copied and pasted. To use a digital signature, you'll need to use software that supports it, such as Adobe Acrobat or DocuSign.

  2. Convert the document to a non-editable format: By converting the document to a non-editable format, such as a PDF, you can prevent someone from being able to copy and paste the signature image. However, this won't prevent someone from taking a screenshot of the signature and using it elsewhere.

  3. Add a watermark: Adding a watermark to the document that includes the word "COPY" or "VOID" can make it more difficult for someone to use a copied signature image in another document. This won't prevent someone from copying the image, but it will make it clear that the document has been tampered with if the signature is used elsewhere.

  4. Use a signature pad: A signature pad is a physical device that captures a person's signature as they sign it. This signature is then embedded into the document and can't be easily copied and pasted. Signature pads are often used in industries such as banking and finance to ensure that signatures are authentic.
