create an association in default apps

Hi there, hope someone can help.

I have adobe reader and adobe DC pro installed, i have no problems with opening PDF's generally but there are some pdf's sent on email attachements that i cannopt open but can open others sent via email? my emails is on hotmail jst in case this relevent!!.the message i get is ''this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one already installed, create an association in the default Apps Setting page.''I have gone to setting and the apps setting and i have PDF's with adobe reader and have even reset to adobe still it will not open some pdf that are sent via email but will open others!!really dont know how to fix this at the moment resending emails to my work to open pdf that i cannot open on my PC. Its a windows 10 system.

any help would be welcome, thanks, hyder1

That is a Microsoft problem... Go to the Search bar at the top of http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx to find more information about fixing file to program associations
