Create PDF from AI file without editing capabilities

May 12, 2020 May 12, 2020

Hi all,

I have a very specific need, so the question:

I need to build an Action inside of Acrobat DC that allows me to batch process Adobe Illustrator (.ai) files in order to save them as a very specific type of PDF. I know I can do it from within Illustrator, but I need to to do it via Acrobat Batch Actions.

Thing is that I need those .AI files to be saved as PDF disabling the Illustrator Editing Capabilities. No matter what I do, the PDFs from my existing batch process are fully editable back in Illustrator.

Is there any way I can manipulate those .AI files inside Acrobat DC so they become PDF without those capabilities?

Thank you!

When you convert the files to PDF You may want to add password protection to restrict editing. This could be done with a  JavaScript action.

Are you already using a batch script ?
