Create PDF from DOCX Will Not Embed Fonts

I'm trying to convert a docx file into a pdf with the font included. The font is TTF to my understanding. It's called 28 Days Later. I also have Adobe Garamond Pro in my docx file and it looks like that converted fine but I'm not sure. I'm using Acrobat and just spent $10 on a monthly subscription.

It's possible the licensing of that font does not allow it to be embedded in PDF files. You'll need to contact the foundry and ask them about it.

I think you need to give us some more information such as operating system (MacOS or Windows), version of Word, and exactly how you created the PDF file.

I found the font 28 Days Later as a font freely downloadable from a number of websites. Its embedding privileges are set to Installable and as such, should not be a problem for PDF embedding.

I temporarily installed a copy of that font and created a .docx document in Word 2016 (with all latest updates). I then used the Save as Adobe PDF feature installed into Word by Acrobat DC Pro to create a .pdf file. This is the method endorsed by Adobe.

Both are attached. Seemed to work perfectly fine. The text with the 28 Days Later font definitely shows up in that font.

PS:     I don't know what $10 subscription you purchased, but if it is the service which uploads your .doc or .docx file to Adobe for conversion, be aware that such conversion services simply cannot and will not deal with the seemingly infinite supply of professional, semi-professional, hobbyist, and rank amateur fonts available these days. Actually, upon further reflection I suspect that this is exactly what happened. The document was converted via an upload, the servers don't have the 28 Days Later font, and some other font was substituted for the PDF file returned to you!

I already spoke with CS and got my refund on Acrobat. I can easily convert files with the correct embedded fonts using "Save As PDF" in MS Word 2010 without spending $10 a month. Acrobat failed me

Glad you found a solution to your problem, but without further information as to how you actually tried creating the PDF fiel under Acrobat, we really couldn't assist you. Per the files I attached to my posting, our experiments show that Acrobat's PDF creation from Word using Acrobat's PDFMaker facility does indeed produce proper PDF with the font embedded.
