Using Adobe Acrobat to creat a PDF, and scanning from a new Xerox C405 MFP, I am unable to locate the newly created PDF. It does not appear on my desktop. Where does it go? I have a MacBook Pro running Catalina OS 10.15.

Hi, exact steps:
Open Acrobat. Select File>Create>PDF from Scanner
Acrobat Scan dialog box opens.
I select Scanner (Xerox Versalink C405 (b4:6d:75)(ICA)
Output: I select New PDF Document
Document Settings: I select Optimize Scanned PDF and Recognize Text. I do not select Make PDF/A-1b compliant, and I do not select Add Metadata.
I then select the SCAN button.
Another Adobe Acrobat window opens, and an "Overview" scan is atuomatically created, and I can see the completed image of the scanned document inside the window. I then depress the SCAN button to create the final scan, and the image is again scanned. When the scan is completed the window closes. The unnamed PDF document is nowhere to be found.

Hi,
I tried locally but wasn't able to reproduce the issue.
Can you please confirm that after scanning, if Acrobat is still running or not?
Also,
The expected behavior is that after clicking the final scan button, PDF should create a page with the scanned image.
Thanks,
Gaurav Maheshwari

Acrobat application remains open, but the window with the scan closes. I appreciate your help. Unfortunately I still have no idea where the PDF went!

Hi,
Could you please check by right-clicking on the acrobat icon in the taskbar and check how many files it is showing as opened.
Thanks,
Gaurav Maheshwari

So far as I know, the file is NOT automatically saved. That is up to you. If it closes before you have a chance to save it, then it is nowhere.

The application remains open. Only the scanned image disappears. Should I purchase a new version of Acrobat Pro DC? I do a ton of scanning, and right now I am "lost."

There are about 10 files that appear but these files are scans made prior to the development of this problem and all have been saved to my documents and all have been given names.

You say there are 10 files "that appear". You mean they are listed in the recent files list?
This old software should not run on Catalina at all. It may run for a bit but you won't be able to reinstall.

By the way, nothing is fully recommended for Catalina. You should always wait a couple of months before a big system update, this sort of pain happens every time.
