Creating a portfolio

New Here ,
Feb 01, 2019 Feb 01, 2019

Hello

I made a portfolio with combining different pdf files.

I make use of the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

Now, it seems no one can view or open the portfolio?

The message is to install Adobe X or higher.

Strange enough, the latest reader is already installed!!

So, this message makes no sense...

See screendump: STACK

What I'm I doing wrong?

And what to do to make a Portfolio who can be opened by everyone?

Thx!!

Ignore the message. Download the file and then open it in Reader.

Thanks for your reply!

Did that and got the same error 😞

And I've used the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC...

You got this error when you opened the file in Reader? Can you post a screenshot?

Good Morning!

I was confused. You're right! With reader DC it is possible to open the file.

But I can not ignore the problem: the error message when using Adobe Documentcloud is fundamental. A lot of people need to open the Portfolio with iPad or do not want to use the download link (too complex for them: save it, open it,...)

So I am really looking forward to a real working solution.

Portfolios uses  Parts of the PDF design that are standard and normal but most makers of PDF software don’t bother to do The whole job. Adobe can’t make these software companies do the whole job so we’re stuck.

So the message could say “This PDF is a portfolio. Your current app is not complete and does not show portfolios correctly. Apps that show portfolios include Actobat Reader X and above. It is not enough to install Acrobat Reader, you also need to be using it.“

On on a mobile this is true too. I just viewed a portfolio  file fine in Acrobat on iPhone.

(Note: portfolio cover pages are on their way out and won’t work in future even with Adobe software, but the contents are there)

Unfortunately, this also happens in Adobe software. I tried opening a Portfolio PDF in the the "Adobe PDF Services" site and got this error message:

And the Organize Pages tab gives an even worse error message:

You would think Adobe would be able to identify a Portfolio and provide a correct error message...

Good Morning

No one? Where are the Adobe Specialists?

I pay for a subscription, and therefore expect all options or sevices to work. A portfolio that can not be accessed via Adobe documents is a major obstacle for me!

There's nothing we can do about it. The online version doesn't support editing of this kind of file.
