Creating ocr box to prevent text from being deleted during editing(+centering all the text)

New Here ,
Oct 13, 2023 Oct 13, 2023

When editing a scanned page the ocr doesnt always recognize all the text on the page as legitimate and when I cut out the extreneous parts of the file it deletes the parts I want to keep as well. In the attached image below it deletes a line under a heading, sometimes its a footnote or dash.

1. How can I manually add a box ( the dashed boxes you see around the attached images) so that the ocr doesnt consider the text to be dross to be deleted.

2. Also how can I center *all the text* on the page (in the second attached image). It only alows to move it manually and usually piece by piece.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.20355 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3upz7hn and check.

Also, to adjust text size and alignment in a PDF please go through the help page https://adobe.ly/3OEhaCj and see if that helps.
