Hi again,
I have a document the margins of which is larger than the content. Trying to crop to take away the margins I receive the same results of the original.
Any suggestion so the documented is actually cropped when printed?
Thnx

You are using the Crop tool in Acrobat Pro?
Ok, what did you expect to change on the printout? Please be exact.

Hi... I went to:
Edit PDF then Crop pages...
Is there any other way to Crop the document?
The problem is that the crop only works on the screen and not when the document is printed out...

I'm sorry, I still don't understand what you mean. If you crop a margin (white space), should the printout change? What did you expect to change?

I want the print to be the same as on the screen... meaning to stretch the writing over the margins...

Does the print preview in Acrobat match what you get printed?
What option do you choose when you print? Fit, actual size, shrink oversized, or custom scale?

Copied
Yes it does... By the way in the print preview I see the original document and the cropped one...
I tried all... I think acrobat does not recognise the crop when the document is sent to printing
I tried everything , actual size, shrink oversized, or custom scale...

You mean custom scale has no effect? For example if you say 200%, actually nothing changes?
Are you by any chance trying to print to the very edge of the paper, with no margin at all? If so, can you do this from any other app?

The scale will not help... the text is not located in the center of the document and hence scaling will increase the whole document size.
I been told their the cropping problem can be fixed through Preflight but I do not know how...

You also didn't reply to Are you by any chance trying to print to the very edge of the paper, with no margin at all? If so, can you do this from any other app?

Not to the very edge... with little or "normal" edge.... I did not try with other programs... Is it difficult to be adjusted with Adobe Acrobat with all its tools???

How close are you trying to print to the edge? Most printers have a margin you cannot make any smaller. Acrobat can't print in it. Maybe that's what's happening to you.

Hi... the margin I'm trying to keep is the normal one. The printer I'm working on is an office professional one... so I do not think the problem is the printer because it prints other pages normally...

I still have no real idea what you are doing, since for me cropping works exactly as I expect. Let’s go back a step. After you crop the pages, do they all show up on screen, cropped just how you want them?
Copy link to clipboard
Copied
Yes... They are cropped on the screen "only"... When I print out the document it goes back to its original shape...

We are going to need screen shots giving the full details of what you see and what you want, as I cannot understand your very specific problem from your description. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO EMAIL REPLY WITH SCREEN SHOTS.

Hi again... I will send my screen shots... meanwhile do you have any idea what can a "Preflight" fix can do in this case?

Did you ever get a response that helped?
I fully understand and I am going through the same thing. It doesn't make sense.

I can't suggest what you can do with preflight until we understand your problem. The crop tool works for me exactly as I expect in all cases.

I understand perfectly what you are trying to do. Don't know if the OP will see this since this question is over 4 years old, but I will answer in case it will help someone. I am having the same issue as I am trying to print a booklet with the inner extraneous margins with crops removed from the center/fold area. The way I found that works is to crop the pages as desired, export the PDF as Postscript, then open the Postscript with Acrobat. The Postscript will convert back to a PDF, but with the margins truly removed, and will print with margins removed.

Thank you, you're a lifesaver! This worked perfectly. I connected in here just to upvote you and write this message.
ps I have no idea how the other person didn't know what OP was asking and I was practically shouting at my screen with frustration every time I read another response along the lines of "we don't understand your problem" 😄

The solution is bad advice, as it can diminish the PDF quality. Cropping works as intended:
