Default printer by pdf page format?

Community Beginner ,

How to set up default printer by page format? For example, I print A6 pdf shipping labels (real A6 pdf format) with a labelprinter. Other A4 pdf documents must be printed by another printer. Now I sometimes forget to change the printer and the last chosen printer isn't always the right choice.

Can I set up the default printer by the pdf page format? In that way in my case the default printer will be automatically selected by this unique variable: the page format.

There is no such option. Acrobat always prints to the standard printer by default and if you change the standard printer, Acrobat will keep that change for as long as it stays open.

You cannot define a workflow based on the file type used. I think there are add ons for such tasks, but they are more adequate for professional printing service providers and are priced accordingly.

Thanks for your quick reply. This problem really is common for webshop holders. Shipping labels are mostly generated to A6 pdf documents. Mostly webshop holders are using special label makers (s.a. Dymo 4XL) with more interesting self adhesive shipping address labels (A6) and always have to be careful as the other pdf documents (invoices, orders, ...) mostly have to be printed by another standard A4 printer. I really think it could be a nice extra to integrate/offer such an add-on by acrobat.

I understand the problem. But I do not know of a solution for this. May be scripting could be a solution. But that is by far not my domain of competence.

I wonder if these kind of scripts has to be made as an Acrobat add-on. Or rather on the OS level (MacOS in my case)?

Any suggestions within the Acrobat company or forum?
